I have been involved in many client success stories spanning my 15 years in the Technology Industry. As a Top Tier Solution Provider we have helped our clients sell their businesses, merge with other firms, exponentially grow their bottom line, expand nationally even globally, and close record breaker deals. As much pleasure as I receive from being a part of this success, very few are as rewarding as helping a client when the chips are down.
I have watched companies crumble. Lost accounts receivables records, lost company trade secrets, inability to bill for goods/services are just a few of the crippling issues that, more often than not (90% of the time according to studies) lead to a firm closing their doors! A true nightmare. And for this reason, its Priority #1 that our clients have a proven (and tested) solution to combat these potentially fatal situations.
I was reminded just how important this is over the last 48hrs. At approximately 5:00PM on Monday, October 13th, a long time client of ours, from the parking lot of his corporate headquarters, called to inform us that a fire had broken out and flames were ripping through the 80,000sq ft building which housed all of their computers, servers, telephones, and most importantly, INFORMATION.
For some Businesses this would spell doom. For this client it simply meant the Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan ACS had in place must go into motion. Over the next 48Hrs our DR team worked diligently to ensure our client would have the ability to conduct business with little or no roadblocks. At 9:00AM on Thursday, October 16th (after missing only 16 business hours), our client is back conducting business at a temporary Disaster Site, most importantly with all their Data intact!
While the chance of a total loss, in this case a massive fire, may not be as common, businesses find themselves in harm's way more often than you would like to believe. Failed equipment is often the culprit, while other times it points back to user error (deleted files). Regardless of the reason you find yourself in this predicament, without a contingency plan things will go from bad to worse very quickly.
Its crucial that all businesses, regardless of their size, have a plan and that the plan is tested regularly. If you don't have a plan, haven't tested your plan, or just want peace of mind, I would be happy to chat with you and ensure that your business is not in danger. As always, I hope this was useful information and am always open to questions/feedback.
Thank you and I look forward to helping.
Best Regards,
William

Welcome to "What's up with IT?"
My name is William Adams. I am the Vice President of ACS Services Incorporated.
For those who are not familiar with ACS, for over 23 years we have supported both local and national clients, in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Space, on the Technology side of the house. We are members of the Inc 5000, CRN's Fast Growth 100, graduates of the IPED Channel Elite Masters Program, as well as carry the prestigious honor of being a Microsoft Gold Partner.
We have clients in a variety of industries. When asked who is our typical client, I respond "Our typical client is one that understands the direct correlation between Technology and Business Success". We are not your traditional Technology Support Firm, we aim to be much more. We aim to become your trusted advisor, a business partner that sits across the board room with the common goal to grow your bottom line.
As a business partner I feel that its my responsibility to ensure you understand how current technology can make your firm more efficient, remove leakage, hit your numbers, increase your return on investment (ROI), and above all, remain successful!!
Which brings me to my Blog entitled, "What's Up with IT?"! The purpose of this Blog is to post information relevant to today's Business Technology Landscape and help you understand how this Technology can be an Asset to you. I hope that you will find the content useful and at any time feel free to contact me to discuss any topic in greater detail and in better reference to your exact Business Model.
Thank you and I look forward to Helping!!!
Best Regards,
William
